Beman, Charles was christened 2 February 1782. Son of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes. Godson of John(ii) Shayler. He died 13 December 1826 in Broadwell, Gloucestershire.

Beman, Edward was christened 22 January 1786. Son of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes. He died 1 July 1787.

Beman, Elianor was christened 16 March 1794. Daughter of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes. She married Richard Minchin. She died 2 July 1826 in Hazelton, Gloucestershire.

Beman, Elizabeth was christened 13 June 1791. Daughter of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes. She married Richard Mason.

Beman, George (i) was christened 16 May 1779. Son of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes. He married Elizabeth Davis. He was a witness at the marriage of William Cummings and Jane Nash. He appears on the 1841 census for Todenham. He was a farmer. In 1813 George and his brother Robert were renting Rectory Farm, Broadwell, Gloucestershire.

Beman, George(ii) was born in 1809. He married Annie Willifer in 1841 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. He appears on the 1851 census for Kingham, Oxfordshire. He was a farmer and maltster.

Beman, James was christened 6 November 1774. Son of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes. He married Ann Russell.

Beman, Mary Ann was christened 2 April 1784. Daughter of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes. She married Stephen Shelton. She died 23 February 1869.

Beman, Robert was christened 26 July 1789. Son of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes. He married Ann. In 1813 Robert and his brother George were renting Rectory Farm, Broadwell, Gloucestershire. On 27 January 1823, he wrote to the Hon. Mrs. Julia Judith Leigh, Stoneleigh, requesting rent reduction for Broadwell Rectory Farm because of agricultural depression. He appears on the 1841 census for Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire; 1851 for Moreton in the Marsh. He was a farmer of 1300 acres, employing 12 labourers. He died 31 March 1858 in Moreton in the Marsh, Gloucestershire.

Beman, Robert Brookes was born in 1841 in Kingham, Oxfordshire. He married Ann Hinton Freeman in 1863 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. He appears on the 1861 & 1871 censuses for Adlestrop. He lived at Lower Farm. He was a farmer and maltster.

Beman, Thomas was christened 6 July 1777. Son of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes. He married Jemima Brooks. He appears on the 1851 census for Kingham, Oxfordshire. He was a farmer. He died 15 January 1854 in Kingham, Gloucestershire.

Beman, William was born in 1746. Son of James Beman and Mary Goodwin. He married (1) Elizabeth Brookes; (2) Ann Goodday, a widow of Daylesford, Gloucestershire 12 January 1799. His second marriage was conducted by Rev. Thomas(iii) Leigh and witnessed by Sarah Dutton and Joshua Patrick. On 10 May 1774 a valuation was made by Richard Davis and Samuel Collett of lands near the Great House at Adlestrop [the Home Grounds], to be let to Mr. William Beman by Trustees of the will of James(i) Leigh, deceased. On 11 July 1774, William wrote to Lady Caroline Leigh detailing the amount of wine in the cellar and the amounts despatched to His Grace the Duke of Chandos. On 9 September 1774, William's land was measured and revalued by Samuel Collet. On 10 November 1774, William took an inventory of household furniture and glass in Adlestrop House which was now being let to Thomas Drake and two days later he wrote to Lady Caroline Leigh detailing those items not required by Mr Drake. In 1775, he rented Evenlode Meadows Farm from Thomas(iii) Leigh at 31 shillings per acre. In 1781, a Particular of Inclosures at Adlestrop was drawn up, with tenants and rents, excluding those rented by John Shayler, John Freeman and William Beman, along with a schedule of farms occupied by John Freeman, William Beman and John Shayler, with reduced rents. At Michaelmas 1781 the particulars of William's farm according to Messrs. Watts and Woodhams valuation were recorded.On 25 August 1789 a deputation was made to William to act as the Gamekeeper for Adlestrop by James Henry Leigh, Lord of the Manor. He was a witness at the marriage of John Finley and Mary Coxhead. He died 3 November 1807 in Kingham, Oxfordshire.

Beman, William Brookes was christened 19 May 1776. Son of William Beman and Elizabeth Brookes.

Additional information: In 1801, Jackson's Oxford Journal recorded the availability of letting a windmill which was being leased out by a Mr Beman of Adlestrop: “Windmill to let. To be let, and entered upon at Michaelmas next – All that capital WINDMILL, situate in the Liberty of Oddington, near to the Town of Stow-on-the-Wold, in the County of Gloucester, containing every Requisite for carrying on the Mealing Business to a considerable extent, together with about five acres of Land adjoining the Mill.”

The windmill still exists, although it has lost its sails and is now a private residence, at Martin's Hill, Oddington, Gloucestershire. (Photograph available)
